Carden Park to host historic Women’s PGA Cup in landmark first for Great Britain & Ireland

Carden Park will welcome the Women's PGA Cup from 3-5 September 2026, becoming the first venue outside the United States to stage the prestigious international tournament.

The fourth edition of the biennial event will see PGA Professionals from Australia, Canada, Great Britain & Ireland, South Africa, Sweden and the United States compete over three days of stroke play. The United States will arrive in Cheshire as defending champions following their victory at Sunriver Resort in Oregon in 2024.

The Women's PGA Cup showcases the very best female PGA Professionals representing their respective associations. Each nation fields a team of five PGA Members, with the three lowest scores from each day contributing to the team total. After 54 holes, the nation with the lowest aggregate score is crowned champion.

For Great Britain & Ireland, Heather MacRae will lead the side as Playing Captain, becoming the first GB&I captain to compete alongside her team. Players qualified across two full playing seasons, with places awarded through performances in the Women's PGA Professional Championship and the WPGA Series. Sian Evans and Tracey Boyes secured the first two spots in team GB&I following the Women’s PGA Professional Championship, held at Carden Park, in June.

Holly Morgan secured her place through her WPGA Series Order of Merit standing. The final spot on the team was selected by MacRae, with Hazel MacGarvie getting the nod.

Hosting the championship represents a significant milestone for both Carden Park and women's professional golf in Great Britain & Ireland, giving spectators the opportunity to watch elite international team competition on home soil for the first time.
